It's always good to spend time with [livejournal.com profile] deyo and [livejournal.com profile] mactavish and their dogs. The foster puppy just added to the excellence. Puppy in my lap!

It's also really, really nice to be somewhere that's not too cold to go outside to do things. Rainy, sure. Chilly, sure. Sometimes cloudy, sure. But not too cold to go outside!

A thing I often forget is that being not at home breaks me out of the 'do things that I have to do' state that I tend to get into. If I'm not at home, there's very little (beyond eating and sleeping and such) that I feel like I have to do. And that is a _significant_ mood improvement. (I didn't even work on my essay while I was gone) I truly do need to make sure that I have breaks from things I need to thing, and that's much, much harder to do at home. (darn chores!)

Yeah. That was a needed, and pleasant, week off.

I have not enough brain or words to write about my own bisexuality for Bisexuality Day, but [livejournal.com profile] mactavish talks about hers.

I, too, know the experience of thinking I had to choose, because I did not know that bisexuality actually existed. (much like trying to be monogamous, I failed miserably at trying to be straight or gay)

Arisia was muchly good. Now, I am very over-peopled and tired! (and also miss [livejournal.com profile] metahacker and [livejournal.com profile] galaneia, with whom I spent lots of Arisia, plus everyone else I saw not enough of, like [livejournal.com profile] deyo and [livejournal.com profile] mactavish) Also, I did _not_ get enough cuddling, probably because I was not staying _still_ enough. Got lots Sun night and Mon morn, though, which helped immensely.

Also, I need to go through my college options and figure out which make sense to try applying to at the end of the year.

And also start packing for April's move. Boxes. Everyone give me boxes!

And probably should start looking at financial aid things, for timing of such.

Investigating a weighted blanket whose weight is better distributed.

And also, I am totally going to get a pretty dragon made for me by the same person from whom I got my crazy feathery hair falls. And if she does gryphons, perhaps a gryphon.

I think I need to go add to my to-do list before I go crazy. ;)

-random conversations with a co-worker about interesting zoos in China with lots of tigers and pandas (made all the better by the sheer _glee_ involved in talking about it)
-People wanting to help me to do research, both just to help me out, and because they are themselves curious (even if some of them were unable due to requirements)
-Pretty music, from various sources, including suggestions by people I'm close to and things played by sweeties
-seeing people who are usually too far away, even if as is always true the visit is too brief.
-bursting out laughing multiple times during said visit
-local sweetie returned to the area
-thoroughly not-local sweetie to be here again in about a month
-hugs
-kisses
-best roommate in the world still is both the best and my roommate.
-funny/good/interesting conversations with all sorts of people
-kitty remembers that it's the time of year that I sit in front of the light for breakfast time, and comes running from wherever he is in the house when he hears the light click on
-I'm driving myself to work three days a week, taking a class, working full-time (which is being especially crazy right now). And my wrists _are still handling things_.
-is loved.
-loves.
-silly camera videos of dogs wrestling. One of which was partly under a sheet. Sheet puppy! Really, _really_ happy puppy tails!
-"hers [camera] is bigger than yours!"

Just happy.

And it's certainly not the weather! :) Even if the trees do remain pretty.

Ok, back to working again.

I can, indeed, switch my brain into a state where I can be intensely social for long periods of time. But it requires me to not need to keep track of time, makes me _very_ flighty (counteracted by being cuddled), not great at self care, and makes non-highly-social activities not things I want to be doing (so I made it to no panels at all, and played very few games). It also requires that I have people I am utterly comfortable with clinging to/cuddling with reasonably easily available. It also makes me _way_ less good at being aware that I am not seeing as much of people as I might like, if I'm seeing them at all and I _am_ getting time with comfortably cuddly people. It also means that I start getting less able to handle touch from those I'm not as comfortable with. And starts meaning my impulse control goes away (although that may have been insufficient sleep).

I have done this before (when I met [livejournal.com profile] the_xtina and [livejournal.com profile] cos, and went to the housewarming where I knew no one), but it's been a long time, and I didn't really understand then how to make it last without huge cost. Now I have more data. :)

So! Arisia mathmatics:

wispfox: (tasty brains)
Very glad to have spent a week with [livejournal.com profile] deyo and [livejournal.com profile] mactavish; hadn't really had much not rushed/distracted time with them before. Also pleased to have met the other women [livejournal.com profile] deyo is involved with.

Definitely very absent-minded, so my planning skills are more than a bit shot (and I need what little I have for work), and I'm managing to forget/leave things places a _lot_.

Also seem to have picked up a chest cold. Meh.

Glad to have come home; missed [livejournal.com profile] metahacker, [livejournal.com profile] galaneia, [livejournal.com profile] jasra, and NSPy. Of course now I miss [livejournal.com profile] mactavish, [livejournal.com profile] deyo, and their dogs. And my lack of scheduling brain meant that I completely forgot that last night was a date with [livejournal.com profile] jasra. Bad me... And her week is crazy busy. Sigh. (the fact that my Palm misplaced that weekly date probably did not help, nor did losing track of what day it was)

But there will be an [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe tommorrow night.

plane should be leaving for SF in about two hours. no lines at _all_ for check-in or security. hate how lightly I sleep before getting on a plane; was tired enough to not realize till this morning that I failed to be between the sheets. sigh!

So... a week w/deyo & mactavish, new years eve & day w/metahacker & galeina (whose lj name I probably totally mangled), then australian_joe arrives in three days after that.

shall see if a week away is enough to miss metahacker intensely (probably), even though I have over three years of practice w/ldr w/joe. but then, I always miss joe most strongly immediately after we part (ok, and at about 4.5 months). so.

sleepy. and should stop & be nice to my wrist!
