Why have I started calling everyone (ok, not everyone - only people I care about) 'hon' lately? Where did I pick _that_ up?!

Also... Blessed +2 clue-by-four! Want!

*enjoys mental picture of wandering around bapping people*

[livejournal.com profile] rosefox writes nifty poems. Betwixt and Between, Black Cloud, and Perfect Rainbow Day.

(ok, apparently I had fewer thinks than I thought!)

[edit: no, I didn't mean to write 'thinks', but it's amusing me, so I'm leaving it]

Oh, I know what other things I found in other people's journal I liked. Quotes! From a book I'm even in the middle of reading!

If the Buddha Dated, specifically. And apparently [livejournal.com profile] starandrea just finished it. ;)

"The key is to remember that people hurt others because they are unconscious or unaware. If only we could, even for just a fleeting moment, grasp that we would all love each other if we could, if we were free from the armor we have used to shield our hearts. When we realize that the enemy is unconsciousness, not another person, we will bring fresh air to our bitterness, and create more spaciousness in our minds and hearts."
-Charlotte Kasl

"We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelier way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us."
--Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

"Expect everything to continue just as it is. Will that be okay with you in six months? A year? Five years? It might seem like a contradiction to base a current decision only on the present moment, when impermanence is one of the basics of Buddhism. The point is this: To make a decision based on reality, we have to accept that it will be this way forever because the prsent time is the only truth we have. Otherwise, our decision is based on projections and wishful thinking."

Hee! (note: I have not seen _any_ of these movies, but...)

Movies in Fifteen Minutes

I have only read the Troy one, since [livejournal.com profile] silenceleigh linked to it.

This question pleases me...

On a warm night, a gentle rain begins and the sky is lit bright as day by occasional flashes of cloud-to-cloud lightning. You:

a) Hide under the bed!
b) Ignore it.
c) Run to the window to watch.
d) Run outside to dance and play!

D! D, dammit! (if I can, that is)

I was not out in it, exactly, but I _was_ driving home in it! Oh, the flashes of lightning bright enough to light the sky, and the _pouring_ rain. Sadly, it was almost entirely done (I think it was moving south) when I got home. No getting completely drenched for me!

But! Energy! It's been a while since I was this up!

Too bad there's no one here to pounce. *feral grin*

*sneak* *sneak* *sneak* *sneak* *POUNCE!*

(I'm sure it'll be gone soon, I can feel it leaving as I type. But! Energy. :)

(I'm also highly amused by the variety of surprised responses to my being at Diesel tonight. ;)

Still too energetic for sleep.

Books! Seriously, my brain is now stuck on books, from reading LJ comment replies.

I have no idea if I can manage to suggest them without getting all lost in my head, but I shall try!

Books and/or stories I recommend )

Probably lots more, but sleep calls. And I don't feel like getting up to look at my bookshelves.
