I can't add the Moonkin hatchling to my amazon wishlist! Sadness.

As my mac is driving me nuts for playing WoW, school is likely to have software that only runs on Windows, and desktops are _way_ less expensive than laptops (and PCs similarly so than macs), I'm hunting a desktop computer. This is for WoW, plus whatever bits and pieces school needs that doesn't run on mac. I'm looking to spend less than $1000, and get as much current and future wow playing ability as I can.

Does anyone who knows windows hardware want to take a look at that link and help me determine if it is as good a machine as I think it is? Or tell me that I'm insane to get that? :)

edit: forgot to mention that i do not want to put a machine together myself. Been there, done that, not too fond.

Realizing that I might be able to get a recommendation from a professor from undergrad who knows me decently well, rather than one from someone who doesn't really know me well, so I actually have two decent academic recommendations. And, when I pinged the professor, being remembered without prompting. (Yes, I sometimes forget that I'm memorable. Being poor at remembering people doesn't help, mind you)

Working on essays for grad school is startlingly easy, for the most part. (less so the parts where I feel like I do not know enough, but that's something that can be worked on.) I do sometimes forget that, while I don't really write stories, I am a decent writer. At least on a computer (I lose track of what I'm saying if it's on paper)

I may not yet be at a point where I'm adjusted to my sleep ability without ativan, but I am at least no longer getting up every hour or two during the night. (once or twice is much better than every hour or two!)

When I remember to take it, migraine meds _work_. (now we just need to make sure that I don't get addicted to the caffeine in them, since until I sleep better I need them every morning)

I finally remembered to link to the pictures in jasra's flickr of the Halloween party that jasra and I went to Saturday night!

It was great fun! I appear to be being way social, now that I have meds to allow me to sleep a reasonable amount. Kinda crazy, since it's _autumn_.

Alright, considering how often I randomly talk about WoW, I apparently need at the very least a Gamer Chick icon, if not specifically a WoW icon. (since I have billions of free slots and all!)

Any suggesions for source material?
