I find myself strangely gleeful at removing the ice/snow from my car this morning. It was a solid mass of ice/snow along the front and top of my car, but my wipers were up, and when I broke it up enough, I could just _push_ huge chunks of ice off my car, to shatter into small pieces on the ground.

This filled me with similar glee to that of cracking thin layers of ice in puddles, and breaking into a creme brule. Glee, I tell you!

Somewhat similar to that of crunching dry leaves in the fall, also.

That... crunching/crackling noise, plus the shattering of the solid object pleases me far too much. And it's not problematically destructive (indeed, freeing my car from its ice meant that I was able to get to work, and not throw those huge hunks of ice at people behind me).

Also, I did not fall on the ice that was my driveway this morning

Thin ice

I love the sound of ice creaking then shattering as you very, very slowly put pressure on it.

I have also discovered that one of the few other forms of socially acceptable semi-destructive behavior is returning shopping carts to the 'corral'. I love it when I can ram mine into a whole pile of others which makes a delicious cacophony, yet no actual damage.

I had a similar fun experience last week (I think-might've been this week, time is running together recently) when my driveway was a thin sheet of ice, and I picked up a bag (containing my brand new yellow pages!) that had been 'iced down', and it crackled/tinkled into a lot of pieces... Major smiles resulted from that one... :-)

I can't resist stomping a puddle, on the rare occasions we get them here. :) [livejournal.com profile] caladri teases me about it - she says she can figure out which direction I've gone at any given time by looking for thoroughly stomped puddles. :)

One great bonus feature of older (they abandoned it this year) Saturns is the plastic side panels. When they're covered with ice you can just kick them without worrying about doing permanent damage.
