Yes, I really am a terrible correspondent. And I got worse after my wrists went stupid (which, incidentally, continue to allow me to work _and_ do strength work every three days. I have hope! Yay!).

So I just finally got around to sending my family an update on the last year or so. Including, say, that I was out of the country for two months, and that I'm trying to immigrate. And go back to school.

Some of them knew pieces of that, but I don't think I specifically and intentionally updated anyone in my family on any of that.

And I apparently missed my oldest brother and his family moving to Florida while I was out of country. Crazy!

I'm so glad people are patient with my crappy ability to keep in touch...

I don't think my munchkin formulae quite factored deep massage. Depending on how ferocious it was, it might want more than a day. It should always be counted as at least a light strength workout in terms of recovery time.

I would err on the side of caution for now, since if you wait a day when you didn't need to, you've only lost one day of gaining. If you don't wait when you did need to, you risk undoing a lot of work.

When you're further along recovery, then certainly one day will be fine (assuming you get reasonable sleep in between).

Hmm. I gave it a day, and seem to be about where I usually am after strength work. But will keep in mind this stuff in future.

Also, I thought your munchkin formula specifically mentioned deep tissue massage? Also also, the guy I went to at the Alphington Sports Medicine place implied that I probably could do strength work that same day (I waited until the next day, IIRC, and definitely did this time).

But yes, I did have a pill night after the deep tissue stuff. And I did see how my arms were feeling before doing strength work last night.

I'm being very conservative. 8-)

Deep massage works because it is doing exactly what strength work does - it breaks down muscle tissue. It's best to regard it as a strength workout, even if a mild one.

If one day off has been enough for you, then it's probably ok to stick with that so long as everything else stays constant. If you get a deep massage after more-than-usual work or driving, for example, or while in flare, for sure you'll need more than one day.
