I am frequently reminded of how much I enjoy good writing.

I will read fanfic about things I know nothing, if I know that the author is a good one. I will friend journals for no other reason than because they write good fiction (I have a few of those). I _like_ stories which catch my attention. And I like following characters.

(Incidentally, [livejournal.com profile] rosefoxwrites, [livejournal.com profile] godkin, [livejournal.com profile] midnight_mare, [livejournal.com profile] teratogenesis, [livejournal.com profile] writerbrain - all writing-specific journals.

The [livejournal.com profile] godkin journal even has the ability to donate, which makes me happy. I like being able to encourage people to write, as well as make it a little easier for them to survive while doing it.

There are others on my friends list who randomly write things and post them, but that's different.

I had, in fact, entirely forgotten!

I think this is because I tend to not be drawn into purely mystery stories, so had stopped reading it. :)

Jeez, I haven't updated [livejournal.com profile] writerbrain in ages.... but I post everything I would post there on my LJ, anyway.

There are others on my friends list who randomly write things and post them, but that's different.

Is it that you prefer to get your fiction in a separate place/journal from regular journalling?

I do, simply because, that way, I know what I can safely save for (potentially) later reading without missing something specific to someone's life.

Also, when I'm suggesting fiction for reading, I prefer to be able to suggest something which isn't cluttered with other things. So I won't suggest people who happen to randomly write fiction in their journals, no matter how much I might enjoy that fiction.

That is sense-making.

And in that case, I'd better keep [livejournal.com profile] writerbrain up to date. :)

*chuckle* Indeed, you should!

I see you Saturday (although I don't know how social I will be, I will at least be there at all)!
