There were a couple things that popped into my head while preparing for sleep, and they told me to post them.

I do not like discussions where effectively what is being said is 'you should think this because' or 'you think this and'. I much prefer 'I think this, and this is why".

Possibly related, I don't like discussions in which one person has to be right. It's why I avoid political, religious, and similar types of discussions. They do _not_ make me happy, because in my mind there _is_ no 'right'.

Disappointed Recruiters Oh, I would join in a chorus on some newsgroup. Strange reactions ensued. It could be utterly wrong-headed of me to attribute the mind-reading to this, but I somehow doubt it.

I give people not from downunder who only see me (and others) from downunder in text a good bit of leeway. It has been interesting to get their take on this.
