I'm so pleased. I haven't had to increase the power on my glasses or contacts for three years! (Yes, this _is_ unusual for me).

Also, a pretty Astronomy picture of the day today. :)

Note to me:

when your brain is claiming that _everything_ you look at is too overwhelming for it, go for a walk and stop trying to force sanity out of an overstim'd state. Sheesh.

Ooooh. Now I can stop lending my falling apart, used copy of The People books....

In Georgia, there's kittens in desperate need of fostering.

And, more local to me (Boston area), there's an utterly gorgeous cat looking for a home. Apparently this cat followed someone into her home last night, is very sweet and friendly, and recently lost or abandoned. The person who the cat followed tried putting the cat out with a collar with her phone number, hoping an owner would find it. Today, the cat was getting in the way of the construction workers outside, so the cat is in her room. Said cat can't stay there for more than a day because of the rat/bunnies, though. The woman who found the cat is not very familiar with cat rescue stuff (nor am I), but can be contacted at young @ media.mit.edu - anyone?

(If I didn't have a cat who was strongly anti-most other cats, _I_ might take this cat)

This quote's been hovering around in my head all day and part of yesterday. And, now that I'm home, I can accurately quote it. So, I share. :)

"Talking is almost as addictive as listening." -Zenna Henderson, No Different Flesh

Oh, yes. Yes, it is. At least, if it's actual talking, and not trivialities...

Oh! Today was sunny _and_ thunderstormy. I'm so pleased!

And! I use my powers for _good_! (la!)

Wow. Apparently someone (kids?) decided to set off a bunch of fireworks in the parking lot I park in, which is more or less across the street from me. I was already having trouble falling asleep, and that did _not_ help. *sigh*

And I want a good, long hug, but there's no one here to give me one. Just a bit touch hungry, me. Impatient again, too.

Managed to get "Every Angle" by Ani Defranco in my head; probably because it's so different from most of her songs. Still. Out of my head, dammit!

Mmm. Gonna go read until I have some hope of sleep, I think. *shakes head* I just hope my car didn't get hurt by the fireworks!
