"But in the end, there are choices that make you happy and choices that make you miserable.

Circumstances don't matter. Choices do.

Travel far or travel short, but you can always find a circumstance, unique to only you and your life, that you can use as an excuse to stay miserable. Because it's comfortable."

There's gonna be an [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe visiting me from June 21st to July... Hmm. Not sure what date. Tuesday is the 6th, and he's calling it the 8th...

Anyway. Yay for visiting! :)

Understanding, recognition...

I'm amused by the fact that I don't understand how someone could _not_ understand a couple of short stories [livejournal.com profile] starandrea wrote. She talks about that here.

And I don't understand what there is to not understand.

*shakes head* I'm sure that means something, but damned if I know what!

This quote, from Diversify, especially rings true: "I'm a kid with a dream, only I don't know exactly what it is. So I drift from one thing to another, throwing everything I have into whatever I do until I realize it's not what I wanted either and move on."

This is, BTW, going to be the busiest month, ever. Work-wise, mostly, but the fact that [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe will be here for the end of it is a factor, too. :)

Heh! I'm amused by the fact that, almost a year after I no longer worked at my previous job, the word 'netboot' _still_ makes me cringe.

Most of you have no idea what I'm talking about. It's ok, though, because I'm still amused.

Now, off to my eye doctor appointment.

La!

I am now reserved for Friday thru Sunday nights at the Marriott for the Boston Worldcon in September. And, because the prices for rooms were the same regardless of bed size, I now have the World's Biggest Bed (ok, not so much - it's a King. I don't think I've ever slept in one, so this should be entertaining).

Now, to remember to tell my boss I won't _be_ there that Monday!

I'm thoroughly entertaining myself with the idea of a bed big enough for me to hide in, though that is probably not actually _accurate_.

Hee. :)
