"We must learn to let go, to give up, to make room for the things we have prayed for and desired." -Charles Fillmore

*amused look* Yes, Universe, I get the point!

*continues to work on being less of a control freak*

That's interesting...

A while ago I wrote myself: What do you want and what are you willing to *do* to get it? I haven't yet considered it a process involving giving up, letting go... wonder how that would change things...

I think that at times a sense of "letting go" may also just be "changing needs", or "sustaining self" ...

an example for me is that I want to spend more time hiking and camping.
.. but I would have to let go of the Ren Faire. Right now that owns
me and my summers. As of yet I am not willing to let that go.

But the biggest thing that I have wrestled with was "what was I willing to do (and let go of) for love?" Which cycled back to the question, "If
I had to give up parts of what I am, and what I love to do, is *that*
worth it for love?" And would someone who loved me for *me* really want me to do that?
I am starting to work out some of this for myself ...

I am guessing from your lj-username you are a Wheel of Time fan?
I just finished reading book 10 =-]

Sometimes it's what you have to do. Sometimes it's what you have to _stop_ doing. Sometimes, it's what you have to let go of before it can enter your life.

The trick is in knowing when to do what, and being _able_ to.
