wispfox: (Aaaaaaaah!)

"Silence is not the absence of sound. Silence allows many sounds to reach awareness that otherwise would go unheard - the sounds of birds, water, wind, trees, frogs, insects, and chipmunks, as well as conscience, daydreams, intuitions, inhibitions, and wishes."
-Thomas Moore

I will have had this LJ account for a year on the 7th. Makes it difficult to do that 'year ago' meme. :)

I will be on a plane tomorrow morning. And afternoon. But not much of the evening.

[livejournal.com profile] aelisdeliria visited me last night, and cuddling and chatting happened. I'm much less itchy and needy and overreactive. This makes me happy. :)

She's also moving in on the 13th!

I'm seeing lots of [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha this weekend, starting tonight. This pleases me.

So does seeing [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe and [livejournal.com profile] rosefox again, and meeting [livejournal.com profile] mikz and [livejournal.com profile] sinboy. It's possible that I will also be meeting [livejournal.com profile] humandays, but uncertain. There is, as far as I recall, no one else on my friends list that I will be seeing or meeting.

I'm apparently feeling like using people's names today. :)

I'm hoping to see the sunset over the ocean, which is not something I've had opportunity to do before, having been on the wrong side of the country for that. (interestingly, I've been on the wrong side of both of the countries whose coasts I've been on - I was on the east coast of Spain, too!)

I am simultaneously nervous and excited, and both are because I'm going somewhere completely new to me. The nervousness is likely to become a bit more apparent on the plane. I'm very glad I'm traveling with someone who knows the area we are going to!

Keeping my mind on work today is going to be a challenge!

Another quote from my calendar at work:

"Our real blessings often appear to us in the shapes of pains, losses, and disappointments; but let us have patience, and we soon shall see them in their proper figures."
-Joseph Addison

Yep! Slept, oh, midnight to 8am, with one interruption that I got back to sleep from fairly quickly.

The secret was not to bring back my sleep time, but to bring it forward. I was going to sleep later and later so I pushed it, did an all-nighter, and slept from 10:30 to 14:30 hoping I'd be tired enough to sleep at a reasonable hour. I was! (Possibly melatonin helped, too.)

I'd thought I'd go back to bed, but y'know, I'm up, I'm awake, so I'll stay up.
