Bits of other people's journal...
Mar. 8th, 2004 04:04 pmpicture from the hubble and a picture by Van Gogh, in
althaea's journal.
You know those days when you're not sure you ever quite woke up? Not like you're tired, or like things are strange, just like... everything only exists inside you. In your mind. [...] It's not a negative feeling. Not even really a detached one, though it certainly isn't about being involved in the world. It's kind of pleasant, actually. It's just like you're in your pajamas, wandering around your own house on a rainy Saturday morning.
They say, "When you hold a grudge, you're letting another person live rent-free in your head." What if it's not just a free tenant? What if it's... I don't know, a self-replicating virus of negativity? [...] Everyone knows that bad moods are contagious, and that they feed on themselves. But maybe that's good. Because if you can turn a bad mood on just by thinking bad things, you ought to be able to turn it off just as easily by NOT thinking bad things.
I'm never totally sure about dreams, you know, because there are plenty of times when they're as real or moreso than this whole LJ-writing existence. Sometimes they're like this life, like when I get up and have a blueberry muffin and then I wake up again and go to have a blueberry muffin but there aren't anymore because the last one has mysteriously vanished. Sometimes they're not, like when I defy gravity and phase through solid objects at will and it's just this thing, not even anything unusual, and I'm pretty sure I don't usually do that here.
These were from
starandrea's journal.
So was this amusing conversation about the subtitles in the Passion movie.
(yes, I do adore
starandrea. And, except for my childhood friend who doesn't have a livejournal, she's the friend I've known the longest, ever.)
Finally, some quotes from
echospiralheart's journal:
Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and repeat to yourself, the most comforting words of all; This, too, shall pass.
"To love a person is to learn the song that is in their heart, and to sing it to them when they have forgotten." - Anonymous
"For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it. " - Ivan Panin
