wispfox: (sleepy)

Brunch with many nifty people, and me ending up _way_ too full. Oh! And a playground and swings and crazy ladder bridges! Swings...

And it was warm enough that I took off my shoes and coat at the playground! But not my socks. Not quite that warm. But getting better!

And the light is much better. I'm modifying my time of evil to be from late December to most of, but not all of, February. The worst of which takes place in late Jan and early Feb. Still not _wonderful_ at this point, but getting better.

Cold still exists. Taking lots of stuff. Need to gargle before sleep.

Art stuff! With sound and light and words and it was _so_ delightful and completely not something I can describe. I'm so glad [livejournal.com profile] nex0s mentioned it! I don't see/experience nearly enough art. Especially considering how close I am to Boston!

Stopped by briefly at the hot foods party. Holy _shit_, there were a lot of people. Which I did expect, and almost made me decide against going, since I was already tired and slightly ill.

(hmm. My sparkly sweater keeps distracting me. :)

But! It was good. And I managed to find a place to sit, against a wall - which made me last two hours rather than one. I really started fading around 1.5, but didn't quite want to leave yet.

Lots of people. Many of whom I knew at least somewhat well, some of whom knew me on sight (heh - user icons, anyone?) when I did not know who they were. Not too strange, though, because even before I was on LJ, that happened - I am _not_ good with faces/names unless I spend a fair amount of direct interactive time with people. Even then, it's uncertain going.

There were certainly people I'd have liked to spend more time with, but overall, it was a good time. I expected it to be brief, and was about right about how brief.

On the way home, I realized exactly how strongly the sheer number of people all together affected me, though. The first thing I did was grab my new portable CD player (yay! Second day in a row that I've used it, and I only got it yesterday!) and to for a walk. More like a sit, really - I found the nearest park and laid on a bench and listened to/sang with my music and looked at the stars, such as they were. There's too much light in Andover... But. It was exactly what I needed. I'm no longer wanting to go hide in a corner from even the hint of people wanting to talk to me.

I also left my hat at the party because I was unable to find it. Shall have to track it down later, of course. I _like_ that hat!

In... less than a week, I shall be visiting CA for the first time! *excited*

OK. Must go let my brain decompress and try to sleep. Very tired.
