bits and pieces

My posting to LJ is going to reduce in frequency, as I'm far less likely to want to bother getting online to post something; at work, I was already on line. However, they are likely to increase in length, when I *do* post.
Of all the days thus far this summer, I find it highly ironic that I get to be home when it's really humid out. On the plus side, I'm not cold!
Today, I pretended to sleep in (didn't succeed much, though, as it was too humid), after staying up past midnight with an entirely too noisy brain. Had lunch with my dad, yesterday, and dinner with a couple of friends in Nashua. Both were not originally intended to happen, but were good.
I've taken at least 5 showers today. I need another one. Too weird.
I'm trying to convince my cat he doesn't mind his new harness, so I can bring him outside sometime. He had it on for 30 minutes this afternoon. I don't think he approves.
I'm hungry, but it's too humid in here to cook. Maybe I'll have some granola - veggies only go so far and for so long.
My car's front strut has been replaced, under warranty thankfully. Much smoother a ride, now. *grumble* Only took them 3 months to get the part - something about everyone having the same problem at the same time. *shrug* Warranty is good. And it wasn't much more than annoying...
Lots of walks today. Lots of stuff I've wanted to do during the day in town that I finally got to do. Sunlight. :)
Phone interview happened. Went well. I should hear more tomorrow about what's next to be done. Apparently, not only did the req open up yesterday, but my name came up in relation to it *before* they knew I was available. Weird.
My coworkers throughout my working life thus far seem to have a highly inflated sense of my job skills. I don't know why this is. For example, one of my recently former co-workers seemed to believe that I have 'strong Linux administration skills', or something like that. I guess, from the POV of a non-admin, I might... *shrug*
Yep. Still hungry.
Going to attempt to go have lunch with former coworkers tomorrow. Attempt, because if it turns out that I need to be interviewing, I'll do that.
Tried to investigate Yoga class tonight. Apparently no one was signed up for it, so I could not sit in to verify that I really do want to do this. Monday night.
Pool & BBQ party Saturday. Yay, pool! Yay, nifty people! Yay, me probably spending most of my time in the pool. Yes, it *has* been a while since I've been in a pool, why do you ask?
Psinging tomorrow evening. Yay!
Why do I feel just as busy as I did when I was still employed?
Need to go convince my air conditioner in my bedroom window that it really *does* fit in there. Blah. Stupid heavy air conditioner.
I wish I could hover. I'd be less warm if I could not be touching anything. It's sad - I want to pet my cat, and still do, but... Yucky.
I kinda want to go to the beach tomorrow. Maybe after lunch, I'll do that. Assuming I don't have interviewing to do. Of course, I'll need to figure out how to *get* to a beach, first. Mmm... waves & salt water! Yummy.
Mmm. I forgot I had mixed nuts. Foooood!
