wet, cold, rainy. too wet for exploring pretty mountain surroundings. tent stayed dry and did not float away. many people I knew. many people I did not. got to know some new people. got to know other people better. much long hair, much joy. Much playing with hair. much sharing of affection in form of head scritches and back rubs and hugs. need more of that. large people pile, but too tired to become a part. little sleep. many children. many toys to play with. music and song. many instruments. many talented people. music, and voices with no words. harmonies in my head; too shy to sing them loudly. music in my head even now. too cold to take advantage of clothing optionality. stupid weather. some brave and crazy people naked in the cold rain and mud. mud as decoration; people as canvas. pretty mountain stream. cold water. muddy feet. muddy sandals. cold feet mistaken for inanimate objects multiple times; friendly people helped warm them. many lovely people. lack of sleep makes perception strange. wonderful pictures. cold, squishy mud makes me squeak. lots of ice cream and insufficient sleep makes me very giggly. For minutes at a time. yummy ice cream. silly, giggly people. never used my massage oils. not enough time and outgoing energy to get to know everyone I wanted to. not enough quiet places to escape to without getting wet. jeans cuffs were wet for two days. difficult to dry things in a tent full of condensation. guitar playing summons music in my head. beauty and joy. tracks made by streams of rain against a car window. glow sticks in the dark, woven into patterns of light and movement. liquid nitrogen, flowing in the mud. swirls of cold white. bubbles and bubble guns. moments of perfect people-watching. many pieces of startled amusement and laughter. contentment. trading sleep and cold/wet for moments and memories and bits of freedom. reminders of self, of music, of connection, of life.
