I wouldn't say we're close, but we have enough friends in common that I see him around at parties and whatnot and we've talked on enough occasions that I count him as part of my social circle. I probably originally know him through rigel, at least indirectly (then again, who doesn't that apply to?) =;).
I think I have been mis-reading that for however long I've been reading it, so I suspect that correcting that will take some doing. But then, I don't _use_ it, so I doubt this will come up much. :)
