OK, so [livejournal.com profile] starandrea's notice page today is amusing the hell out of me.

See, she recently read A Straight Person's Guide To Gay Etiquette, and proceeded to quote one of the entries in the FAQ for bisexuals:

Why would anyone who could have a straight relationship go to all the trouble of having a gay one?
Because we're just better. No, seriously. There's a lot you can do in a gay or lesbian relationship that you can't do in a straight one. Wear each other's clothes, for instance, or make out in a restaurant bathroom. Condoms do get expensive, but you can pay for them with the money you save on emergency home pregnancy tests. Elderly relatives don't object to your sleeping in the same room when you visit. If you're nervous about your prowess, you can always practice at home on your own equipment. And both of you are from the same planet, which is always nice. For instance, you are less likely to find yourself in a situation where you are saying, "I'm not entirely happy with how the relationship is going--can we talk about this?" and the other person responds, "Gimme back the remote control or there's gonna be trouble."

I'm so amused. And, I have *totally* made out in a movie theater bathroom before. Makes for interesting associations every time I go to the bathroom in any movie theater since then! Were I feeling especially picky, I'd protest a few of the other examples, but I'm too busy being amused!

It's good to know that I'm a 'perverted fornicating demon spawn'. Comforting, really.

So, if we have a het relationship too, does that mean we're -not- supposed to wear their clothes? I get these things so confused.

What, you were unaware of this? Sheesh...

Hmm. Now I want to meet an entirely normal, asexual demon spawn...

Dunno, but I've been known to wear clothing of guys I've dated and not even realize it.

I don't *think* any of the guys I've dated have worn my clothes, but that may be because I've tended to be smaller than the guys I've dated.

But I like my mom. I wouldn't call her a demon. :)

I get so jealous of women's clothes. Silks, taffetas, velvets, the list could go on. And when women dress up, they wear less; when men dress up, they wear more. Where is the fairness in that. And did you know that 4" heels for a 14EEEEE foot is around $450?

About the only silk that I get to regularly wear are my silk shirts. Value Village is my friend.

Maybe you were a changeling? :)

It's not possible to find such fabrics in men's clothes? I could have sworn it was...

Yeah - that's always struck me as strange.

Very rarely and the clothes are always boring or ridiculous. I pour over the International Male catalog when it comes in. With some of the clothes they have, you can tell who has been a bad model.

I have many silk shirts but they are all just boring button-down dress shirts. I've got a few velvet shirts, two are "poet" shirts, and 3 are mock turtlenecks.

Even when I do find interesting clothes, they tend not to fit. Considering that I have an 18.5" neck and -very- long arms,

If you find a good place for such, please send me a link or similar.

Huh. Yeah, I don't know of anything, as I'd never really had need to look, and the places that I tend to find stuff is not online (ok, garment district is, sorta - but it's mostly a secondhand clothing store, so very little is online). Will keep it in mind, should I find anything. I take it goth clothing places are no help?

Also - where did you find poet shirts? I like poet shirts, I've determined, whether or not they are velvet. Of course, I like them on *other* *people*, since I have no idea how well they would work on a female.

Yeah. Poet shirts and berets - two bits of men's clothing that I will pretty much always notice. I have no idea why. (Yep! Catching up on old LJ comments, me!)
