I had forgotten that driving myself places, aside from independence, means I can listen to music REALLY loudly, in the car alone. It is a goodness.

Yep, that's one of the real bonuses of driving hired cars around Tassie. A good stereo and the time to listen to my favourite music - and Triple J! I have just rediscovered radio again, and it's fun. :)

Not a shock, no. Think I've been around with moderately loud music played by you!

I have trouble doing that in places I live, because usually there are neighbors or people I live with who might mind. It doesn't occur to me if someone else is driving (hell, it barely occurs to me when I am, or I would not have forgotten that!).

It was, FWIW, Indigo Girls' Rites of Passage. :)
