Found at the end of an ingredient list on a container of candied nuts:

"(This product may contain traces of peanuts and other nuts)"


Um. Good! I certainly hope so! In fact, if there's only traces, I'm not pleased!

One of those dumb legally-required things in case they get their ass sued because someone allergic to peanuts bought a can of nuts not realizing that they were nuts. Or something.

Peanuts aren't nuts, they're legumes.

I don't find this strange. I think they meant "nuts other than the kinds that are obviously supposed to be in here". Such a warning might be useful to someone like my sister, who is allergic to some nuts but not to others.
