I would just like to say... Bird! Bird! Bird! Bird!. And also, What would you even _do_ with a bird, if you caught it?

Finally, I reference Cat Proximity _WAY_ too much.

(the 'bird' reference because there was only a single sighting of a bird while walking a few minutes ago. Female Goldfinch, which I recognized by sound, first)

Once, in college, I was trying to sell some rose quartz to a woman who owned a New Age shop in an old house in Portland (because my grandfather had a lot of it, and I was all enterprising or something). This woman had a little bird, which usually lived in a cage. Bird got out of its cage just about the time I walked in the door. Bird wisely propped itself up on the (high) trim work (matching the high ceilings) that surrounds the rooms in many Victorian-style houses. I offered to help move the bird to somewhere we could get ahold of it, and grabbed a broom. Bird jumped off the wall, and in an instant was snatched out of the air by a cat (which I hadn't seen) that had been waiting nearby. Cat raced upstairs, followed by me. I grabbed the cat, and pried its mouth open. The whole point here is that the cat put up considerable resistance to my prying its jaw open, but it didn't seem to know what to do with the bird that it had just scored (and crushed) in any case. All that anticipation -- for a ball of feathers!?

Was it a pet cat, or an outdoor/indoor cat? *curious*
