So... [livejournal.com profile] jasra lost her job yesterday.

This is good, in that her job was evil and making me (along with many others) very worried for her.

But it's bad for the suddenness.

And neutral because she gets to trade one significant stress for another.

And neutral because it means she needs to start looking for another job pretty much immediately.

So, if anyone in the greater Boston area knows of any project management/lead-type work w/a side of development openings, please let one of us know.

If she can get a resume to me IMMEDIATELY, I may be able to get her work.

My company hires about 30 data-processing temps for the end of the year; 5-6 of them are chosen to stay on permanently and those with skills are encouraged to branch out into the rest of the company. All of the managers in my department and all but one of our team leads started as data processors and were promoted.

The down side? It's entry-level, it's 4 pm to midnight, and it's boring as all hell. But it can be a useful stepping stone, and even if not it's a tide-me-over job for a fast typist ($13/hour plus incentives).

I've done data entry second shift before (in college) and I'm just no good at that shift. I used to zone out around 10:30-11 and my keystroke count would drop drastically. ;)

So, thank you, but I'm going to pass on this offer. I do really appreciate that you reply to [livejournal.com profile] wispfox's post!
