It's so strange to cook food or go into the fridge and not have Ash begging for food.

Or to get home and not have him at the top of the stairs to greet me and/or inform me that I should have been in bed an _hour_ ago. (or that it's past dinnertime)

Or following me around the house, chatting and/or purring loudly.

Or joining me on the couch, or trying to get me to _go_ to the couch, for petting.

It's _way_ too damn quiet in my apartment. No purry, bitchy, chatty kitty...

And, unlike last night, my bond with him was gone this morning. Completely. I can figuratively wave my hand through the space where it was. It was comforting to still have it connected to something last night... but no more.

I miss my kitty.
