Finally remembered to ask my parents where they suggest getting kringle, in Racine, WI (where they are both from, and which is apparently the only place you can get kringle in the US).

I found a website for them, as well as contact information and a review. But they don't sell them from their website. My parents claim they _do_ ship them, so I may have to call.

Mmm... kringle... now I want some. But I'm not quite up to talking to random strangers on the phone right now, so not today. But kringle!

Now, of course, I am wondering how many of the people reading me have any idea what kringle _is_, if it's only available in and around Racine, WI (at least, in the US)... poll!

Hi There!

Before I click on the link, I'm wondering if that which you describe as "kringle", is what my grandmother calls "kringlar". A Swedish lemony-almond shortbread cookie. If so, I LOVE tht stuff, and you simply MUST come to NJ during Xmastime so you can get some kringlar from my mom or grandmom. :)

We sell kringle in my bakery department. I can't think of the manufacturer at the moment, nor can I recall tasting any. I'm sure they're not nearly as good as ones made by a bakery such as you linked to.

Huh! I'm impressed that they are being sold in your bakery. But yes, probably not as good as the bakery in Racine. :)

I worked today, and looked at the kringle we have, because I was curious. It's made in Racine, by Olesen's Family Bakery. We have three flavours: apple cinnamon, strawberry, and cinnamon pecan.

No, not yet. If I do, I'd be most likely to take one from the freezer, rather than from the table, so I'll know it's as fresh as I can get it. That requires my knowing we have some in the freezer, and my having time to get it while I work. If I do try one, I'll let you know!

I lurve kringle. I have no idea where my mom gets it from, it's a bakery in Racine, I know that. (Waves to fellow Wisconsinite--or former Wisconsinite) Ooooohh....strawberry or blueberry kringle is to DIE for! Thanks...now I want Kringle. :(

I'd guess the bakery that I linked to, since it appears to be consistantly named the best one in Racine.

I lived in Chicago for fifteen years, went to Racine more than once, and have rumored Danish ancestry -- but I still don't remember hearing anything abou kringle :)

I am from Racine and have grown up on Kringle all my life. My grandparents are from Denmark and have introduced me to great Kringle. I have tried all the kringle in Racine, and I have never tried a kringle so good as from the bakery my family has bought from forever! It is from the bakery O&H Danish Bakery (www.ohdanishbakery.com) They mail order worldwide and also have two retail stores in Racine. They also sell under the name Olesen's to grocery stores (not many) around the country and Canada. They are great! and my personal favorite is pecan and raspberry. Try one and you will forever be hooked!
