A: "That bus was alternating between saying the route number and socks!"
Me, envisioning route number alternating with graphical representation of socks: "What?"
A: "Socks! S-O-X."
Me: "Oh! Sox! Right."
A: "There must be a game."
Me, envisioning games involving socks and busses: "..."
Me, realizing that A meant a Red Sox game: "Oh! I was trying to figure out what games would involve busses and socks!"
There then followed attempts at describing games which would involve both busses and socks. Either really small busses or really _huge_ socks. Among other things, which I cannot remember. There were busses in toesocks, which therefore had toes, I think.
There was also much giggling, and lack of ability to breathe due to laughter. Also, there was a reverse direction clock, which I only realized the reversedness of when I looked at my own watch and realized they were mirror reflections. I want a reversed clock, now.

Date: 2005-08-19 07:07 am (UTC)As for the reverse clock, for a while they were quite the fashion in barbershops; you could look in the mirror and tell the time.
(yeah, what would I know about barbershops, having not darkened the door of a tonsorial parlor in many years...)
