I'm just curious, what was your initial reaction to it? Did you think it was serious, suspect it might be a hoax, or cry "bullshit" right away?

In my younger years I tended to fall for hoaxes and urban legends. Nor did I see the humor in claims as to the inclusion of the word "gullible" in the dictionary.

Then I discovered Jan Harald Brunvand and his study of urban legends, and I devoured his books. I must say that they served as a very effective means to calibrate my bullshit meter. This was well before the Interweb; today one could just surf through snopes.com for similar effect...

Initial reaction: that is _not_ possible.

Then, I read the reply to the post which said that they found a reference to it in P&G's website.

Then, I was baffled, horribly, and posted this.

Then, I tried to find the reference in question, couldn't, edited to make the note above, and commented in reply to the person who said they found such a reference.

I've enough experience with bullshit at this point that really dramatically unlikely things, I notice. Things which are more plausible, though, I probably won't. And being tired will make me less likely to be able to tell (which I have been lately).
