Ash seems to begin to understand what the issue is when he meows at 5am. This morning, I yelled at him and sprayed him, and he did _not_ run away. He just shut up and lay down on the carpet in my bedroom. I have hope...

It's odd driving a borrowed car while mine is getting maintenance.

Hungry, sleepy, tired. Good weekend, _busy_ weekend, highly, highly, _highly_ social weekend. Seriously. Psinging, and [livejournal.com profile] ratatosk visit, and call with [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe, and [livejournal.com profile] brynndragon visit, and [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and [livejournal.com profile] yendi visit. And, I visited [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha Thursday night. Did I mention social?

Also, I accidentally caused [livejournal.com profile] brynndragon to be addicted to Morrowind. And didn't manage to do laundry. Tonight, I guess!

'Net at home makes me _happy_, but it also makes it much more difficult to be social, because I want to _do_ things with my newly connected computer.

Also, I rejoice for my trackball, my wired and wireless DHCP serving router (which is _not_ cooperating, in terms of convincing my laptop to work with Shared Keys enforced, but is good with requiring the MAC address), and my... oh! Laptop case. This was the result of [livejournal.com profile] brynndragon trying (and failing) to find Morrowind. Now, I buy no more non-necessary things this month, as I also have car maintenance costs to pay for.

Food. Or at least a snack. I have a meeting at 11:30, and cannot get lunch early (indeed, will get it late). Eventually, I will have time to actually read my email, even! First, though, much work stuff...

I think that if I didn't have internet, I'd do the home reading or home watching movies or home cuddling dogs thing a lot. I like being social, but only a few nights a week, and I don't like driving at night, or getting motivated to be up and about, and the dogs need company.

*nod* Interestingly, my 'do I want to be social' thing varies wildly, but mostly on a seasonal basis (partly on a sufficient sleep basis, as well). I should have at least a weeknight a week to myself, in summer. Beyond that, my 'I have energy and it's summer and I want to _seeeeee_ _people_!' thing kicks in. Which means my cat sees less of me than he would prefer.

Winter? I tend toward wanting people far more often than I have energy for people; thus why roommates are _good_. I tend, presuming that I work the kinds of hours I do now, to have energy and interest in pursuing interaction with people (setting up time, possibly having to drive) twice a week. People who visit me help, if they are people who I am comfortable enough that they give enough energy to make up for the social energy they take. I do a lot of reading and movies and game playing and such, in winter. And quiet cuddling _while_ reading is the best in terms of making best use of energy/time available, although usually infrequent (except when [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe's around).

I strongly dislike driving at night, and really tend to prefer to not drive at all, but my tolerance for such is significantly higher than it used to be, for neccessity reasons, since both work and social usually require this. Social is getting less strongly requiring of it, now that I'm closer to the Boston area, and getting to know more people who have vehicles. Still not a useful commute via public transit, though, if one is coming from Somerville as most of my friends tend to be.

Look! Babbling, me. ;)
