So, Ash does appear to be adjusting, at least to some degree, to the lack of a couch.

This morning, when I sat down to eat my breakfast, he took very little time to jump up into my lap and figure out how to curl himself so that he wouldn't fall off, purring loudly the entire time.

It is, I note, very difficult to go to work when there is a warm, loudly purring kitty in one's lap. I did, of course, pet him lots and leave a few minutes later than I'd intended.

It's funny to see a cat who was adamantly _not_ a lap cat turning into one, due to lack of couch. We'll see if he continues this after [livejournal.com profile] jasra and her couch move in. We shall also see how he copes with her cat, for that matter!

That's sweet that he's figured out how to be close even without a couch. My cat isn't much of a lap kitty, but loves to be nearby (arm of the couch when I'm reading on the couch, etc). I hope they get along. She's been lonely lately so it would be nice for her to have a friend during the day.

Lucky you have a couch. My roommate's cat likes to perch on the arm of my desk chair. Makes it tough to type....

Sometimes she'll lay on my desk in front of the monitors or on the mouse pad. All depends on if she feels ignored. I'm going to miss having a 6' desk because it meant I could let her have a decent sized section when she wanted to be close but not bothersome.
