[apartment] Verizon landline

I have now been given reason to hate Verizon, at least for landline.

They were supposed to be coming over this afternoon to take a look at the cabling inside the place I live, to figure out why I have dialtone outside but not inside.

They came yeserday. And didn't call me, either to see if it was ok, or to let me know they were here, _or_ to tell me that they'd tried and failed to get in touch with me (they didn't csll the number I have for me, my cell, so what _DID_ they do? Ring my doorbell?!). I know because I called _them_ a bit after 4 today, wondering where they were. Y'know, after all their techs were gone for the day.

The best part? I picked today because there _were_ no times open before then.

Stupid Verizon.

So. Comcast, which already has a cable box for my apartment, is going to be my next attempt for phone and 'net. They come over on the morning of the 16th. At least I know the previous tenants _used_ cable... And tomorrow I call Verizon and cancel. And if they try to charge me for any of the service in Woburn, I am _not_ going to be fun to deal with.

And, I continue to have no 'net for another couple of weeks. *irritated growl*

At least I have 'net from work. And a cell phone. And nearby friends from whom to borrow 'net on weekends.

The 14th? That's a very long time, eeep!

Our phone/DSL experience was also awful. It's why I had to hole myself up in the house while you were here -- but they never came, then. But yours is just going on and on and on.

16th, actually. They could do the 15th, but I saw no good reason to take off work when the next day they could do was a Saturday. :)

And yes, this has taken _entirely_ too much time and pain and effort. *sigh*

I'll be in town that weekend, specifically on Friday too. Want to change it to Friday and I could just go there for my post-flight nap instead of Woburn?

I land at 5:30 am and then just have to drop off points in Cambridge so he can go to work.

Probably between 7 and 8. Depends on traffic, etc. You may give them my #. :)

Thinking more, I think I'll have himself drop me off at your place and then pick me up when he's done working. That'll be easier on me and I will have plenty to read. And I can walk to 7-11 and get a Slurpee! *glee*

Unfortunately, the 15th is no longer available (the 12th is, but you won't be around). But you're still welcome to be there, and I'm sure Ash would appreciate the company. ;)

That's a bummer. I'll talk to himself and see if he'd rather have his car and me at your place or me have his car and at his place (while he's at work). It would be easier for me to be dropped off. ;) Then I don't have to stress about getting lost on a little bit of sleep.
