*wry* That's _one_ way to put it!

I can at least see the reasoning for this kind of thing for public use things like roads and highways, even though those also suck for the people in question. But for any economic development at _all_? Damn...

This has made me realize that there should be a hierarchy of rights:

rights of the individual > rights of the local area > rights of the state > rights of the federal government

You might notice that corporations are not mentioned anywhere in there. Because they don't have any rights. Well, they shouldn't have any rights, but then, I also feel that we should go back to the times when corporations we created for a single specific endeavor and then disbanded.

Although, this isn't about state's rights. This is about voting people off their land. Which, I'll grant you, has a long-standing tradition in this country (especially if said people were there before we showed up), but I don't like it one bloody bit. This isn't an episode of Survivor, we're not allowed to vote people off the island!

And the bizzare thing was that the good guys on the SCOTUS voted the bad way, and vice versa.
