My cat is _SO_ damn stressed right now.

See, all my smaller furniture (bookcases, bedside table, desk, chairs, kitchen table) are at the new place. And he has _no_ idea what to do with the changes to his environment. And no one's home during the day, and I spend a lot of time at the new place, or moving things between the new place.

Hopefully, the fact that he'll be moving, with me and the larger furniture, into the new place on Sunday will help. Or, at least, be different. Poor kitty...

Poor kitty! Is this the first time you've moved since you've had him? My two brats are pretty calm about that sort of thing now, but I've had them for eight years and moved many times with them, so they've gotten used to it...

If you have any on hand, mixing a bit of rescue remedy with water and spritzing it into the air might help. We also have a spray bottle of that Feliway spray, but it's expensive and it seems to be better at controlling aggression than calming flipped-out kitties.

Yep. I got him not long after I moved into the place I'm currently moving out of.

I don't, but I work near a pet store. Do pet stores tend to carry such things, or is it a specialty thing?

I've only ever seen rescue remedy in health food stores and vitamin shops and the like. It's a homeopathic-type thing, usually used by humans, but I've also used the spritz-in-air method to help stressed-out dogs and cats any number of times. Runs about ten bucks a bottle and any good health food store should have it.

Ah, ok. Thank you! I shall have to stop by Wild Oats tonight, to see if they have it.

Poor kitty :( From what I ve seen of other peoples cats, they don't move well at all, and for the first few weeks after a move they are really miserable, but they get over it after a while and are fine again.

Poor kitty! I bet he'll be happy to see the new place and all of your stuff there. :)

I told the vet I was moving east and she told me I should give my kitty Frontline about a week before the move because there are more fleas in not-Colorado places. I never considered that. So she'll get Frontline (and Heartgard) before the move.
