The answer to "Hey Ewan, if you know about Leia, how come you refer to Luke as your last hope in Empire Strikes Back?" is obvious: human females can't be Jedi. I keep meaning to ask Georgie about that one, actually. . .
The ones I can recall had bluish skin (I'm thinking particularly of that one scene during Order 66) and/or weird head things, which means "not human" in the Star Wars universe. I can't recall if any of the "younglings" (*barf*) were girls, however.
