I am oddly amused by the fact that people apparently don't mind it when I want to do such strange things as do laundry and look at apartments while they are visiting me.
Whereas, in my head, I'm feeling like I'm saying 'hi! Come visit me! And then we will do things entirely unrelated to you being here!'. Even though if I were in their place, I wouldn't mind, either. *laughs* Eventually I will stop expecting everyone else to be oriented toward Doing Things and/or being Focused On Visiting People while hanging out, even though I'm not. (if nothing else, I don't tend to get along as well with people who have strong goal-orientedness in their head relating to spending time with people)
Also, my brain is entirely too obsessively conscious of me wanting an apartment already. And
australian_joe being here soon. And my cat being entirely too confusing for words, health-wise.
And. There was something else. I swear. But it appears to have left. Ah, well.
Well, there's this evil yet fascinating link from
woodwardiocom. For which
ladytabitha currently hates me. (I note that I gave up on it)

Date: 2005-05-19 09:15 pm (UTC)Me too, as you probably already noticed. ;)
Those are the same people who like to plan every minute of a vacation in advance, and get upset when reality deviates from plan. Yikes!

Date: 2005-05-19 09:18 pm (UTC)My mom used to do this. I suspect it's why I learned not to plan so tightly (I bet otherwise I would have).
And yes. Noticed. :)

Date: 2005-05-19 10:56 pm (UTC)Thing is, although this works great for leisure activities, it becomes a problem when I have things like job interviews to schedule. "I can't pick an exact time in advance for this interview! What if the bus is late and I don't make it, or what if I wake up that morning and just don't feel up to an interview that day, or what if a meteor strikes?" Somehow as soon as I'm making a committment that involves someone who isn't a friend or sweetie and thus might not be forgiving of last-minute plan changes, I panic.

Date: 2005-05-20 02:04 pm (UTC)Huh! For the potentially possible problems (running late, etc), I just schedule a _lot_ of extra time for traveling, and bring a book in case I'm a lot early. (I tend toward being very early when I don't know how to get to a place and/or it's not someone I know very well if at all)
For not feeling up to it... I think I just force myself to be up to it, unless really really sick and unable to make it (in which case I call and see what they say about it - never happened, though).
Can't suggest anything for possible meteor. I suspect, though, that if that were to happen, the potential job interview people would be understanding. Well, or in a similar predicament as you'd be in. ;)

That sounds highly unpleasant... *sympathy*

Date: 2005-05-20 02:05 pm (UTC)OK, I can see this. Interesting way of looking at it, though. :)
