I mostly interpret as some combination of wanting flexibility in people I'm close to and wanting people to not go overboard and drive me batty all the time. :)

Baby shortage? BABY SHORTAGE?!? Where do people get these ideas, and why are they teaching them to kids? Apparently, you can convince yourself that there just aren't enough unwanted children in the world, and this whole overpopulation thing is really just a myth if you bury your head deep enough in the sand.

It doesn't surprise me that the adoption system is rife with racism. What really upsets me is that affluent white girls who carry affluent white babies are the only ones who can successfully navigate this system. Unfortunately, once they find out how easy it is for them to send their babies to a good family, they assume that everyone else can do it too, and it makes it easier for them to lump the women who opt for abortions into the "bad" box. It's easy to feel morally superior when you get extra priveleges that you don't even notice.

Anyway, quite certain I'm preaching to the choir here, so I'll stop ranting now. ;)
