*idly looking at the IRC names for the couple of channels specific to the office she works in*

You know, there's an awful lot of names there which - while I recognize them - I have no idea which person who they go with. Then again, there's a fair number of people that I recognize as belonging here but whose names I don't know.

Ah, the fun of being poor with names and faces, combining with the fact that names may or may not have anything to do with their IRC handles...

It's good that I am mostly not embarrased by asking people with whom I've worked in the same office for months what their name is. (mostly because I _had_ to stop being shy about it, really) And that my co-workers tend to know about my name/face difficulties and are willing to try to help me figure out who it is that I'm looking for.

For the first few months after I got to know the Homeport crew, I was perpetually trying to match up names, irc handles, faces, and lj usernames. It took 60 seconds just to introduce me to someone! ;)
