*idly looking at the IRC names for the couple of channels specific to the office she works in*

You know, there's an awful lot of names there which - while I recognize them - I have no idea which person who they go with. Then again, there's a fair number of people that I recognize as belonging here but whose names I don't know.

Ah, the fun of being poor with names and faces, combining with the fact that names may or may not have anything to do with their IRC handles...

It's good that I am mostly not embarrased by asking people with whom I've worked in the same office for months what their name is. (mostly because I _had_ to stop being shy about it, really) And that my co-workers tend to know about my name/face difficulties and are willing to try to help me figure out who it is that I'm looking for.

My _god_, my head hurts today. Glad I decided against going to Psinging at the last minute, because I doubt I could have coped with so many people and with the group singing, in general.

The place I will potentially be volunteering is _neat_. Both in terms of the group with which I would be interacting - _very_ nifty people - and in terms of the overall place in which the group is located. I'm so very impressed with the sheer variety of stuff available to the teens who go there. And I do hope that I get to volunteer there, because I very much like the people I was interacting with. Fairly impressed with the speed with which I was made to feel comfortable, considering that I didn't know _anyone_ beforehand, have a cold and a nasty headache, and was sorta struggling with random bits of shyness.

At least one of them has already added me to their flist (whose offline name I can't remember - unsurprisingly - and I've not yet checked Joule to see what the LJ name is), with a later comment on the sheer number of people reading me (or was it that I read?). Sometimes I forget that it's a lot, because there's enough people on my flist with so many _more_ people who they read or are read by. *shakes head* I sometimes forget how many people I know, even taking into account the people whose journals I read that I've never met. Such a strange combination of introvert and extrovert, me!

It also looks promising that I would be able to head in a bit after it starts (so as not to be leaving work ridiculously early), and go every other, rather than every, week. I will probably try to set it up so that I have Psinging and volunteering on opposite weeks, just so my Fridays every two weeks aren't stupidly crowded (also so I can drop by home and feed my cat and/or bring other people with me to Psinging).

Ow. My head apparently feels the need to remind me it's there. And I took painkillers right before heading home!

Also - I had forgotten just how difficult it can be to escape from downtown Lowell. Sheesh! Took me far longer than it should have to get home. Is ok, though, because I needed to make a decision on Psinging. :)

Must do laundry tomorrow! Must. And bring out recycling Sunday night, since I forgot to do it the last time I could, a couple of weeks ago.

Sleepy. Perhaps bath and then bed, even though it's really early. Stupid cold.
