I find it very amusing that, every time I visit my dentist, the dental hygenist always reminds me that they can 'do something about that'. The 'that' in question is a stain on one of my front teeth due to having been on crazy antibiotics immediately after birth (somehow, having everything but my brain and spinal column infected isn't a *good* thing. Thus, why I was removed from my mother's body two months early).

The other front tooth also has a discoloration, but it is very, very white - and not a brownish color that keeps making people inform me that I have lipstick on my tooth. See, people, I don't *wear* lipstick. Yeah.

Anyway - dentist. So, every time they say so, my reply is something about not caring about it enough to do something to it which isn't going to be permanent (the main option seems to be to cover it up with something, which will have to be redone every so often). Not entirely sure why this is such a confusing thing, but there ya go.

If I were going to do something drastic with my teeth, it'd be braces, since I have an overbite. But, no. Ouch. And, expensive. That money can go somewhere else.

Anyway. Dentists. Apparently I'm just not vain (my brain wanted to write 'vein'!) enough.

On the plus side, my dental hygenist is always very impressed with my dental hygiene. I have happy teeth. :)

Some people can be very self-conscious about that sort of thing. I noticed it when I met you, noticed the apparent lack of any lipstick-wearing that would cause such a stain, and figured it was just a part of you now.

I'm sure your dentist has just gotten in the habit of having people jump at the chance to whiten or correct their teeth in some way.

When I was 15, I had a chipped front tooth bonded, and was told I'd have to come back every 5 years to get it redone. Twelve years later, I haven't had to get any additional work done to the bond, so it's possible that my permanence in the correction might be the same for you.

But if it doesn't concern you so much, then cool. Nice to finally know someone who isn't obsessed with what makes them unique or unconventional.

Huh. Interesting. *shrug* Not a huge deal, but interesting!

Um. 'finally'? I'm the first you've known? This startles me a lot, actually. I'm not entirely certain why.

But, yeah. Everyone feeling a need to remove their uniqueness is annoying. ;)

And - you will be in my area in... less than two weeks! So pleased. Not sure how social you plan to be Saturday, since you will have been up since early. But, I have time available both Sat and Sun.
