[mostly note to self]

This is mostly a note to myself, as I appear to continue to be poor at noticing these kinds of things.

If I'm intensely grumpy, and it feels out of place, I _really_ need to do an internal check to see if I'm in a seriously overstim'd state.

Currently, combination of lack of light box (which I have used since I got home) for 4 or 5 days which were also intensely social, the fact that the weather thoroughly screwed up my schedule, and an unexpected conversation with someone who is often high energy-requiring for me (esp over the phone, which this was) appears to have put me into an _INTENSELY_ grumpy state. And, as I noticed a couple of seconds ago, _INTENSELY_ over-stimulated (shakey, skin-crawly kind of thing). Not that there was much I could have done even if I'd noticed earlier, since today was almost entirely taken up by travel.

Icky. At least now I know _WHY_ I'm so damn snappy/grumpy. And now I can go hide or something for a little while.

I lose talking _comfortably_ before I lose reading, but I lose reading at a sufficiently low energy (but not necessarily tired) point that I can still otherwise be functional if I don't need to, say, drive.

If the snow had been a bit less fluffy, and I'd been a bit more dressed for it, I'd have tried making snow forts last night while I was wandering around outside. Snow forts are _fun_!

I did! And I got to shovel out the fire escape (aka back porch) as part of my hiding. So I was useful _and_ escaped from people for a while. :)

I like "lolling" better. Perhaps because it implies a minimal level of motion...

I can see that. I'm not sure that I'd optimize for motion, though. And "lolling" to me vaguely suggests motion that isn't terribly controlled, like nodding off and catching oneself, or being somewhat blown about by a passing breeze. (I don't think my concept of the word is entirely accurate, but that's what my backbrain tells me it feels like.)

Hmm. Lolling does not imply a lack of control for me... I like the capability of motion, which lumps don't seem to have (aside from gravity). Interesting.

I think the real problem is that "lolling" implies higher rate of motion and energy expenditure than I would prefer. With "lumping" I mean the first definition. Turning into a mostly featureless heap in front of the computer (or on the couch, or what have you) and, ideally, not having to move at all for a while.

I just lack the capability to stay completely stil, which is what lumping seems to me. I think we're talking about the same level of motion though (very little). :)
