I derive much glee from the fact that the word mishmashes 'inasmuch' and 'insofar' are valid dictionary words.

I want more crazy words like those! Three words in one!

Of course, I tend to want to use 'inasmuchas', because 'as' is the most common word I use at the end of 'inasmuch'. Sadly, _that_ is not valid.

"Nevertheless".

Yes! But that one gets used more often. It feels less lonely. ;)

But if I see "infact" one more time, I'm going to chew up an aluminum can.

And forcefully spit it out at the person who used it?

Instant ammunition!

:) All in the OED:

whatsit, whatchamacallit, and thingamabob are, by far, the most amusing of this list. :)

It wasn't on the list given. Was it?

Does WTF count?

OK. See here (http://www.stc-orlando.org/newsletter/2003/memo_2003_10.pdf), page 3.
By the way, some people in DC contract "can I have" into "caiav". Does that count?

That's beautiful. Not quite what I was originally talking about, but beautiful nonetheless!

Amusingly, I only noticed that after I did it. So, unintentional. But neat!

I like "notwithstanding." I can't hear it without hear Marley's ghost say it, from the best movie version of A Christmas Carol ever. Is it possible to fall in love with a voice? :)

I think so, although I'm not likely to do so. :)

i believe Davo (now of austin, TX, formerly of bostonish) and a friend of his invented one: spinnygoroundguy. which refers to anything whose exact name you can't recall at the moment but which goes around, e.g. a tire, a microwave turntable, a CD, etc. as you might imagine, context is key, but i've rarely misidentified the target object.
