Awake at 6am this morning, after going to bed after midnight. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!

No idea why, but since Falconridge last year (~August?), when I get a sinus infection, it usually (but not always) results in random unexplained dizziness. This does not please me, and I can't figure out why it's happening when it didn't used to! Don't _like_ having to grab for stationary objects for no obvious reason. I mind it less when it's relating to standing up too quickly, because that I can adjust for.

Last week's stomach bug appears to have exacerbated my problems with acid reflux. This _does_ _not_ _please_ _me_! Sad esophagus.

But hey! No major pain sources! Just lots of annoying things. More than usual, but still!

hmmmm... i used to get something like this -- i'd be walking along and then i'd get this sudden blinding headache on one side of my head, and i'd get dizzy and have to grab for something. does this sound similar to what you're having? in any event, best of luck!!

Not similar; while I do tend to have a headache if my sinuses are behaving badly enough to have the random dizziness, it doesn't seem to have any obvious connection to when the dizziness happens (nor does the severity of the headache seem to relate).

There is _no_ warning, actually. I think if I didn't already have a fair amount of care in how I move so as to run into fewer things, I would probably have fallen down because of this by now. *laugh* Look! Positive value to being a klutz with poor balance!

Anatomy books and my experience agree that your sinuses and ears are connected, and your inner ear is what controls balance, so that actualy makes a fair amount of sense. You could try taking a motion sickness pill -- they're made to solve inner-ear confusion and have worked for me in the past with ear-related dizziness and nausea.

*nods* I know that the two are connected (ears and throat, too) - the question was why it started happening for no apparent reason when it didn't used to happen.

I'm guessing perhaps it's just that I get more sinus infections, and worse ones, perhaps due to spending so much time in an air conditioned environment (at work).

I told my doctor that I never used to have sinus or ear problems and then suddenly started and she said it wasn't an unusual thing for people to suddenly develop, although she didn't say why.

I *heart* my humidifier -- we run three in our house in winter.

Oh! How weird...

I should get around to getting myself a better one. It's better than nothing, but only barely.

Humidifiers: Sears. I got mine on sale for $30, and it definitely does the job in my bedroom. (We also run a big one in the living area, which is a great goodness.)
