My car is free! After much effort (and the aid of yet another complete stranger, this time one I never even saw - my car was mostly dug out when I got there, with 'good luck' written in the snow covering the car), much digging, and an awful lot of time trying to escape the ice, snow, and hill.

Apparently the lot in which I park is, in fact, not being plowed... because it was sold to someone who intends to tear down the building it's got, and make the place into a bank. Hopefully next year, since I can't imagine them doing construction work in the middle of winter. (Was conversing with another of the tenants, so I learned this)

This means that I, along with many of the other tenants, are screwed unless we manage to find somewhere else to park that is safe to park overnights during winter parking bans. I _hate_ the excessive lack of parking in downtown Andover. *sigh* Now I get to try to convince random businesses to let me (perhaps along with the other tenants, if that is helpful) buy a spot off of them. Not that there are many businesses with lots in downtown Andover!

On the plus side, I now know of other possibly less difficult to get out of spots I might be able to use in the lot that I'm currently using. Hopefully they'll give us warning before they take it away from us!

Boy, my hands hurt. Much, much shoveling today. But less than I would have had, because it was warm enough that the ice was melty-ish and therefore _possible_ (sometimes) to remove, and because of the random stranger who freed my car and left a nice trail on which I could drive.

Yep. Hands, arms, and back hurts. I really need to remember that it's _not_ a good idea to shovel stairs from above them. Below is much nicer to my back! And I am slowly making headway on the ice on the stairs, since it's been above freezing. Not quite _gone_, but less...

...and people wonder why I don't want to move up north...

I don't wonder! But then, I _do_ wonder why the humidity in Atlanta doesn't kill you dead in the summertime.

No like humidity, me.

Also, snow is much less annoying to deal with if one does not have or need a car.

I grew up in South Florida... my lungs developed in heavy humidity, so it doesn't bother me a bit. :)

Lungs and skin, I presume.

It's both for me. Lungs have this 'but I can't _breathe_!' reaction, but skin has the 'icky sticky nasty texture sensation!' thing.

Also, it's difficult to sleep when I feel like I'm enveloped in moisture, but not actual _water_.
