Does anyone else sometimes toast marshmallows over the stove or a candle?

And do you have patience in your toasting, or do you take the tack of making them burnt to a crisp on the outside because you like watching the flaming marshmallow? (and hey, crispy on the outside and smooshy in the middle is fun, too)

I don’t roast marshmallows over a stove or candle, but that’s only because (a) I never have marshmallows in the house, and (b) it never occurs to me. I encounter marshmallows (very enthusiastically!) when other people bring them to campfires.

I have patience in my toasting, but I like them to very slowly turn black and crunchy, and then finally, finally catch fire. As with beef so with marshmallows I am a firm believer in the carbonization of food.

And to comment on another comment, I’m more the sort of person who sucks on candy than crunches it.
