Does anyone else sometimes toast marshmallows over the stove or a candle?

And do you have patience in your toasting, or do you take the tack of making them burnt to a crisp on the outside because you like watching the flaming marshmallow? (and hey, crispy on the outside and smooshy in the middle is fun, too)

I've toasted them over stoves, but it's not the same for me. I don't love marshmallows, they're more like a ritual, and that ritual goes with campfire or winter fireplaces.

I'll eat them if they've burned, but I prefer them evenly toasted all over.

I don't play with marshmallows _often_, mind. But every so often I want to eat insanely sweet food that I just finished burning over an open flame. And I don't generally have a campfire or fireplace handy! :)
