My body hates giving blood. It even fights back by trying to close up around the needle, if it can. On the plus side, I didn't have to give enough this morning to get dizzy afterward.

[edit: I also adore the fact that my doctor is open-minded enough to adjust to my being poly, in her thinking. And believes me when I self-diagnose and/or tell her what I need done.]

I find it interesting that, even though I've not played them in a while, and _won't_, the fact that I'm trying to "sell my "Quest for Glory Anthology" on ebay makes me a little sad. I _like_ that series! And it's something I played a fair amount of as a kid. But I won't use it, so why keep it around?

And it requires a hard drive. Do you have a hard drive? Because if you don't, you can't play it. ;-)

I love that series. The fun thing to do with it is to start with a thief in QFG 1, with at least 5% in every skill, and work every skill up to 100%, switch over to a paladin at the end of QFG 2 after working every skill up to 200 (which means that, yeah, you can't do all the thief quests, but you don't want to be a thief for QFG 3, because there are not good thief subplots in 3), and continue like that all the way through.

I managed to get all skills up to 500 at the end of QFG 5, and end as head of the Thieves' Guild and be offered the throne (which I gave up to Elsa).

For a while, I sketched out an outline for a QFG 6 that I tried to write as a fan-project, but that never went anywhere.

I never played QFG 5. I think I actually never finished 4, although I saw someone else finish it.

But, yeah. Very good series. :)

Gah! *squick* I'm phobic about needles. Yeah, even just reading about them.

Meep! Sorry. I should have cut that, huh?

I would appreciate cuts, with warnings, about such things, yes.

So... is it the specific word? And if so, how do I warn about it?

(eg, I've since cut the offending bit, and mentioned something about drawing blood in the cut text. Does that work?)

It _is_ tricky to figure out how to warn about this. Sometimes the specific word will get me, sometimes it won't. Usually the word requires some context wrapped around it to bother me much, but there's also the question of how much context my imagination will try to fill in at any given time. Hmm...I haven't really looked at this very closely. This will require some observation and pondering, and I will let you know if I come up with anything useful.

The cut text works well enough for me right now, with my mind (trying to be) more in analytical mode...which also makes it harder to predict reactions to the same text under other circumstances. Um...I don't seem to have all words I want here; tired brain. Might noodle at you some other time.
