I understand the home pc thing. I have long term burnout problems and having had a (relatively) soft fluffy job helps a lot. I feel I can do my job with one hand tied behind my back. Now I've been doing that for a while I'm realising its a pace I should aim to keep. Somehow you end up doing more than when you were trying harder.
Can you afford to trade a month of snowy midwinter for a month of blistering heat? Long holidays help with burnout too.
