I would _really_ like to stop spending my nights in the grips of really strange dreams, because I seem to not sleep nearly as well that way. I do seem prone towards really strange dreams lately, though!

Tonight I try to determine if my sleep difficulties might have something to do with insufficient longer-term physical contact - I don't have any idea when the last time I had more than hug-type contact with anyone. No wonder I've been feeling out of sorts and disconnected and just plain strange!

[edit] I apparently was not clear. I'm not intending to try to combine cuddling and sleeping tonight; just attempting to get some cuddling in (and have already asked for such). I don't sleep (well, if at all) while cuddling, although cuddling can get me most of the way to being able to sleep.

Am spending weekend with high-contact snuggleperson.

This pleases me. Yendi isn't a snuggler, alas...

Sounds like a pleasant experiment!

I tend to wake up more often when I have somebody to snuggle in bed with me, but I also tend to feel a lot more refreshed in the morning. (And my general mental health is of course a lot better when I have lots of cuddles in my life.)

Well, note - I'm talking about getting cuddles in a non-trying-to-share-sleeping-space way. I can't sleep while cuddling (although it can get me most of the way there).

I had weird dreams last night too, as well as nice cuddles. After several weeks of my sweetie being away, the cuddles more than made up for the somewhat interrupted sleeping :)

Yeah, that makes sense! Yay!

But, I was not talking about trying to cuddle while sharing sleeping space, as far as tonight. Just getting some cuddling at _all_ is my goal for tonight. And, I don't seem to sleep when cuddling, although it can get me most of the way there.

I can fall asleep while cuddling, but I dated someone once who could not, so I understand what you mean I think.

I've been realizing lately that lack of physical contact does bad things for my physical and mental state too. I need to find more cuddle buddies clearly :)

Hope you get some good cuddles tonight! and some good sleep too.

I know what you mean. The two weeks when all of my snuggle-folks were away at Burning Man made me crabby, and then when everyone returned I didn't know how to tell them that my skin hurt from not being touched.

Re: sleep and snuggles - I like to sleep in the same bed with someone, and not snuggle to sleep, but sleep near each other, with a limb touching. Once in collge my boyfriend and I fell asleep with our hands intertwined across the space in the bed. It was so lovely.

Have you managed to get good touch time since then, I hope?

I'm decent at barely physical contact sleep, like you mentioned above, and certainly can enjoy it, but tend more toward none (especially if it's not someone I share sleeping space with regularly).

Hey! At some point you mentioned a visiting of me possibility. Should I ping you on that off-LJ?
