Apparently I offended a squirrel on the way to work today.

I was driving with the two front windows about two inches open, and a small acorn flew in the driver's side window, and hit me in the head. It wasn't until I got to work that I determined that it _was_ an acorn, mind you.

But damn, that squirrel has good aim! Through my only slightly open window!

Also, being so tired as to get sick is bad. I was home sick yesterday due to exaustion. I couldn't even remember my voicemail password, which was odd.

But! I get to avoid things which even get close to the evil of the past month for at least a month. Perhaps I can recover, now. :)

Maybe it was a tree? I can't imagine that squirrels can throw *anything* with those tiny arms.

Oh, great. I offended a tree!

It's so much _easier_ to offend a squirrel, though...

I doubt you offended the tree. Trees are things you hug. Maybe he wanted to plant offspring in your carseat?

Trust no squirrel

Not a big surprise; there are many elite squirrel assassins out there.... by that I mean, Squirrels who are assassins - certainly there are assassins who specialize in Squirrels too, but obviously you weren't dealing with one of those folks, in this situation. Unless you are a squirrel in a very clever disguise, and have been maintaining this cover for a long time... Perhaps you're part of squirrel sleeper cell, waiting for the call from squirrel head quarters that will activate you? Given that, this was probably a hit arranged by a rival squirrel terrorist group - or perhaps by a squirrel intelligence group working with Homeland Security? Hrmmm... perhaps I've said to much. Keep an eye on the trees. They are everywhere. *Slinks off in the shadows*

Actually, <a href="http://cuagain.manilasites.com/stories/storyReader$287>this article</a> is the one I was thinking of when I read that.

I don't know how well they throw, but they can drop with some accuracy. I was setting up for a party in a park one time and a very upset squirrel was chastising me from the trees 30'-40' above me. I never figured out what I did to offend him but as I was setting things up he, or she, was chittering up a storm and then acorns started dropping on me. He didn't stop until a number of other people showed up.

It may have been related to an incident with my pet Gerbils years earlier. A squirrel used to visit the window closest to my Gerbils. My roomies and I would joke that they were plotting the Revolution. I'd foolishly named that set of gerbils after world conquerers/rulers, Alexander, Catherine, Genghis, Attila, Napoleon (who was later renamed Josephine, oops) and Elizabeth.

Ok, the thought of a tree wanting to plant offspring in my carseat (which I initially read as 'carpet', making it even more amusing) is causing me _way_ too much amusement. :)

True!

But there were entire minutes where I was unable to stop laughing. That happens a bit less often (although sleep dep may have something to do with that). ;)
