Jul. 19th, 2004 10:45 pm"Friends are family that you can choose." - lots of places. Most recently, the end of _Exile's Honor_, Mercedes Lackey.
Presuming, of course, that they also choose you. And if they do not, were they ever right to begin with?
"And I choose you to take up all of my time
I choose you because you're funny and kind
I want easy people from now on"
-"Easy People", The Nields
A final note on the removal of bonds. Don't forget to heal the spot where the bond used to be. Reiki is an excellent choice for this. It has stopped trying to re-form, finally.
As always, learning when, and how, to let go. Learning to let go... of fear, of what one wants instead of what is.
*wanders off, humming "Easy People"*

Date: 2004-07-20 04:37 am (UTC)Ah! I *knew* I'd forgotten something. Actually, I did my last bond removal in completely the wrong order. It worked probably through sheer willpower, but I kept thinking "there's got to be an easier way". I don't know Reiki, so my healing is probably more involved and haphazard than yours. It does the trick, but it takes a while to really get it functional.
