If I minded people drooling in my general direction, I would not wear the clothing I wear. Apologizing for a compliment is silly.

Interview today went well. Still need to chat with HR, though, so we shall see.

I said, while working at my last job, that I would dye my hair purple the next time I was unemployed. Apparently I get to do this, now. Preferably without jeopardizing my ability to obtain a job. This should be interesting.

Good interview

I'm jealous. I finally had my first interview this week, and by the end of the first session (job interviews at HP are team efforts, so I had four interviews scheduled for one job) I knew that I would be completely miserable if I took it. It hurt to cancel the rest of the interviews, but I'm still naive enough to think I can find a job I would actually want. My fingers are crossed for you.

And I believe I speak for us all when I say, "Purple? Pictures!" :-)

The thing about taking a job you *don't* want is that it a) tends to be a last resort kind of thing - because one has no money left, and b) tends to make one unhappy enough that finding another job one *does* like is that much more difficult.

So yeah. If you can afford to wait it out, I would agree with you on that.

And, pictures will happen. Once it's dyed, and when I manage to kidnap someone's digital camara for that purpose.

Actually, I'm in a really good position for that. While I don't have a job, I'm still employed; I have no work to do, but they're still paying me. The plan is that we'll all find new jobs in HP. The trick is, knowing when to take a local job I don't really want, or move somewhere else to take one I would. Most of the available jobs are in Fort Collins, Colorado and San Diego. (Well, SD isn't really an option. There are jobs, and probably even ones I'd enjoy, but I'm also pretty certain we couldn't afford to live there.) I'm still holding out hope for one project that's supposed to open up here in Corvallis, but I won't hear about that for at least another week.

A tough decision, but for the most part, regardless of the choice I make, we're not out on the street. So, I'm in a much better place than I could be.
