Comment made by someone else, but it _so_ is true for me, too.

"I land myself in some weird shit, simply by existing."

Quite.

*attracts strangeness*

*goes away*

[edit: and, at least based on the comments, I apparently also _collect_ people who attract strangeness. Now isn't _that_ a frightening thought? ;)]

Great, now there's this pile of strangeness, and you're not here!!

That's pretty much what I was thinking.

Dude, you just KNOW that all this strangeness is going to spontaneous form...

into...

a grue.

*blink*

Ho-kay, apparently that (http://www.bm-chambery.fr/images/photos-jjr/grue.jpg) is a grue!

"It is dark in here!  You are likely to be stacked precariously atop a building by a grue!"

Stacked precariously...Jenga...Human Jenga!

Hey, that could be fun! Maybe leaving a pile of strangeness lying around isn't such a bad idea.

I've actually heard of this being played.

I can't say I'm surprised...that it's been played, or that you've heard of it. :)

Wait, you're going to attract strangeness and then just LEAVE it there?

Poor strangeness. *pet*

How do you know it didn't follow me? If I attract it, wouldn't I be like a magnetic and have it follow me around?

(now isn't _that_ a fun idea?)
From: [identity profile] wolfieboy.livejournal.com
I've been told by a number of people that I had the "Weirdness Magnet" disadvantage. I originally saw this in GURPS but the two best descriptions I've found are a library entry (http://www.travellercentral.com/library/w.html) from Traveller and a description of effects (http://www.amurgsval.org/shadowrun/weirdness.html) from Shadowrun.

At first people are like "There's no way that much could happen to you." After a while, they just assume that it's me and let the weird just pass on.

Attracting Strangeness

There's a Mage: The Ascension flaw related to that... *looks*

"Strangeness (http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Labyrinth/3122/chapte2b.htm): (1 Trait Flaw)
This flaw results in reality being slightly different for the mage than for most Sleepers. Once per Story the Storyteller will choose one of the mage's Spheres and have a bizarre effect take place based on that Sphere. For instance, Mind 3 might result in a mage getting a visit from a telepathic dog. If the spell gives the mage Paradox, he will actually gain the Paradox, even though he did not use his magick."

"Once per game the Storyteller takes one of your Spheres, picks a bizarre effect and implements it."

So this exists in Mage: The Ascension, Shadowrun, and some random library entry. Huh.

*glares at her life's Storyteller* *stops glaring, because most of the time the strangeness is amusing and/or good*

I once created a Daughter of Ether character with some fun flaws. :D

Lessee...
Bard's Tongue
Strangeness
Addiction: Mild, to caffeine
Curiousity

She was a sortakinda Gun Bunny. Lots of big boomy things, when not prevented by Paradox.

Never got to play her though. *sad* Parts of her were adapted into my current BESM character, but the campaign is quite different and this one's a bratty completely nonmagic teenager.
