Neat quote, kidnapped from
echospiralheart:
"Expect everything to continue just as it is. Will that be okay with you in
six months? A year? Five years? It might seem like a contradiction to base a
current decision only on the present moment, when impermanence is one of the
basics of Buddhism. The point is this: To make a decision based on reality,
we have to accept that it will be this way forever because the present time
is the only truth we have. Otherwise, our decision is based on projections
and wishful thinking."

Interesting thought, that. *contemplates*

Date: 2004-06-17 05:34 pm (UTC)I prefer to make decisions based upon full-motion films rather than snapshots, as then I have an idea of trajectory and movement... the trick is to be able to correct in midstream so, as you gain new information, it can be applied.

Yes. I'm not entirely sure I _can_ grasp a snapshot well enough to make a decision based on one.
